How to Apply for the Law, Justice & Culture Early Assurance Program

The M.A. in Law, Justice & Culture is a rigorous and selective graduate program focusing on the challenges of law and justice in the 21st century. It is great preparation for careers in research and policy, public agencies, advocacy organizations, private companies, and nonprofits, as well as law school and Ph.D. programs.
Benefits of the Law, Justice, & Culture EAP
- Admission to the Master of Arts in Law, Justice, Culture program
- Access to programming and activities that provide a firsthand look into careers in law, research and policy, public agencies, advocacy organizations, private companies, and nonprofits
- Preparation for law school and Ph.D. programs
Eligibility
- Have the equivalent high school GPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale
- Have a record of strong academic engagement, for example (but not limited to): a challenging high school curriculum, leadership in extracurricular activities, sustained community engagement, or independent learning experiences
- Have been admitted to OHIO's Athens campus as a first-year student in one of the following majors:
- African-American studies
- Anthropology
- English
- Geography
- History
- Philosophy
- Political science
- Sociology
- Sociology-criminology

The fall 2025 Law, Justice, & Culture EAP application is closed. Information about the fall 2026 application will be available in the fall.
